A Set Path Ordered by the LORD …
There are times in our lives where we find ourselves wandering into a place of isolation. One night we went to sleep, and all was well. In the morning, we awoke, and everything had changed.
God in His wisdom, knows what we are ready for, and what still requires preparation. When we are not ready for what lies ahead, we are drawn unto Him. It feels like a dry and weary place, yet we are sheltered from those areas, that would destroy us.
When we are set apart, it is not because we got it wrong, rather we have been qualified to under-go the final preparations. The wilderness we find ourselves in, is designed to remove all that distracts us, where we become focused once again, on what matters most.
If we are not able to step into what God has in store for us, then we will need to embrace these changes. Our times in these wilderness settings, will do 1 of 2 things. Draw us closer, or away, from God. This is a season of preparation, and how well we pay attention, will enable us to progress forward.
Many times, we are in need of understanding of what lies ahead. We desire to advance, but when we lack clarity, it can become costly in many areas of our lives. Our time when focused upon what matters will produce good fruit. When we advance before we are ready, we become disillusioned, easily distracted, and what we were to accomplish, fails.
You know the saying that says “anything that comes easy never lasts”, well there is a lot of truth in that.
Listen to what Proverbs 13:11 says:
Easy come, easy go, but steady diligence pays off. (Proverbs 13:11 Msg)
Many times, in life we look to the easy quick fix, to what we determine the solution should look like. Yet if we were to see it from the LORD’s perspective, we would find that our solutions, actually works against the very things, that He desires to accomplish through us.
Only when we are able to place our confidence in His timing, knowing that He has gone before us, where He is making the crooked places straight, only then do we align correctly.
Our faith is increased, when we understand that His plan for our lives is good. His desire, is that we are successful in all that we do. When we put our confidence in His ability, to guide us, even when we don’t clearly see, our faith cannot but grow. As we draw close to Him, we start to have a deeper more meaningful relationship, with our eternal Father.
God will always keep His promises to us. He will never leave us or abandon us. The wilderness is actually the ground upon what God uses to qualify us, moving us forward at the right time, so that we are able to enter into our very own “Promise-Land”.
The purposed for which we have been called, the Promise-Land that we have been promised, hinges upon our obedience. Part of what takes place in the hours of silence, the hours of solitude, is the surrender of all that is holding us back.
That’s right, holding us back, from entering into, all that we have been called to be. Being “Victorious,” needs to expand beyond who we are.
Our lives were meant to first become “Victorious,” but in that same moment, impart what we have been entrusted, into the lives of all those, that are counting upon receiving what we have attained.
Deep within, there is a fire raging, that has set forth a path to victory, that will not stop until we are there. A relentless pursuit wanting to over take us, fill us, empower us, use us, for all those we have yet to meet.
Prayer: Dear Lord, our journey to our purpose, our “Promised Land”, requires us to first walk through the wilderness, in preparation for what you have called us to do.
Please show us where we are at in this place of stillness, in this place that we have retreated to, longing to find our way forward to you. We put our confidence in your timing, and how you take the crooked places, and make them straight.
Your plan is all we want, for we know, you only have good intentions for our lives.
Verse:
Remember that for 40 years the Lord your God led you on your journey in the desert. He did this in order to humble you and test you. He wanted to know whether or not you would wholeheartedly obey his commands. (Deuteronomy 8:2 GW)
