V07 Spirit is Willing
We do not really understand how much strength our soul has, until it is forced into submission. Our flesh will scream the loudest, fight the hardest, when it is put to the test. It wants what it wants, and it doesn’t ever look to God as a solution. It is its own boss, needing no help. It resists change at any cost, and definitely when it comes to giving up its precious desires, it digs in it’s heals, refusing to budge.
The Spirit with in a man or women, only knows how to submit to the process laid out by the LORD. It is teachable, and it only has one purpose. Its main focus is to be in obedience, acknowledging that God is Lord over our lives. It desires above all, to bring glory and honor unto the Lord no matter the cost. It worships God in Spirit and in truth, and is willing to lay its life down for a friend. Jesus is that friend.
Now maybe you’re learning: the spirit is willing, but the body is weak. Watch and pray and take care that you are not pulled down during a time of testing. (Matthew 26:41 Voice)
We enter times of uncertainty, and during those times we come face to face with both, our strengths, and weaknesses. God is wanting us to understand where we have gone right, and where we still need some work. With God it is never a finger pointing moment, as he desires that we succeed. He is more than willing to walk with us as we grow into who He says we are. At no time are we judged, rather He has compassion on us, for He knows that we are but dust. He is not asking anything of us, that He did not have to overcome. He overcame the world and all its desires. We have that strength to lean upon.
He was mindful that they were human, frail and fleeting, like a wind that touches one’s skin for a moment, then vanishes. (Psalms 78:39 Voice)
When the war between our soul and spirit is completed, we will have submitted to the Holy Spirit, and the teaching that brings us forth to victory. Our victory then helps others find their way. Until this point, we are unable to help others, because until victory is achieved, we are left power less, not able to please God, because our flesh, is at war with God.
The very thing we have been after, and never able to attain, is then given to us as a deposit of our future. His peace then comes upon us, and guards our hearts and our minds. This is the ultimate gift, for it is our reward, filling the empty void that we have tried to fill with everything but God. We are left at this moment with clarity that lasts a lifetime.
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So, don’t be troubled or afraid”. (John 14:27 NLT)
The way that God works in each of our lives, is designed for who we are. Those that follow the Lord, He will meet us as unique individuals. He walks forward with us each step, through the times that seem unclear, on the path that He has set before us.
How God works in my life, will be different than how He works in your life. The only thing that will remain the same, will be the end result. His purpose, is that we all come to a point of total submission and obedience. This is His greatest desire, that we all become one with Him. Where there are no barriers, where we have crucified our flesh. It is no longer I who lives, but Christ who lives in me.
Prayer: Dear Lord in our weakness you are made strong, and for that we are grateful. Out of our weakness, if we follow your Spirit, we are guaranteed success. At no time are we ever condemned by you, only embraced to overcome. There is nothing like your peace, and once we have tasted of it, we wonder why we fought so hard? We fix our eyes on you Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
Verse: Worthy are You, O Lord; worthy are You, O God, to receive glory and honor and power. You alone created all things, and through Your will and by Your design, they exist and were created. (Revelation 4:11 Voice)
