Heart Posture

Hi and thanks for joining me today. These words are designed to reveal the heart beat of the LORD, and what He is currently speaking. My prayer is that it will help me, as well as you, establish a closer walk with the LORD.

I have called this word: Heart Posture

How we position our hearts before the LORD matters greatly. Yet we go through life not really understanding, just what it means to come to the LORD. When we come, what is the intention of our hearts? Do we come with a heart, that desires what He desires? Or, do we come with the intention of getting what we want?

Do we know our own hearts?

Listen to what James 4:3 says:

And even when you ask, you don’t get it, because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure. (James 4:3 NLT)

The outward expression of our lives will be a reflection of what is going on within our hearts. Good, and bad flow out of our hearts, depending upon what we have filled them with. From the abundance of our hearts, our mouths speak.

How do we gauge our hearts?

Listen to what Luke 6:45 says:

It’s the same with people. A person full of goodness in his heart produces good things; a person with an evil reservoir in his heart pours out evil things. The heart overflows in the words a person speaks; your words reveal what’s within your heart. (Luke 6:45 Voice)

Everything then is determined by what we establish with in our hearts. This is such an important issue, yet for most, not much thought goes into, what we are allowing. The issues of the heart, is the very thing that the LORD is bringing forth. He is bringing it forth from the place it has been hiding, undetected to this point.

God desires a transparent heart

His finger has been placed upon it, and now we are in need of seeing it for what it is. We are experiencing the exposure, for our own selfish ambitions. Yet, in the light, do we see it and turn towards the light, in a heart of sorrow for what we have done? Or, do we turn away from the light, recessing back into the darkness that we just came from?

Once we have seen the light, we are responsible for what we have been shown. We are not able to separate knowing from actually doing, from hearing to acting, and from faith to obedience. Anything short of this, is disobedience, where we harden our hearts in defiance.

When we refuse to act upon what we have been shown, it is credited to us as sin.

Has obedience overtaken you?

Listen to what James 4:17 says:

So, if you know the right way to live and ignore it, it is sin—plain and simple. (James 4:17 Voice)

There is no way past this point of truth. We are not able to cloud the truth, where we are not held accountable.

This is the word that the LORD is currently speaking. This is the area that He is exposing within our hearts, and lives. The question remains. What will you do with what you have just heard or read?

The exposure is designed to help us

The instructions that we are given, are clear, now what will you do with the truth? A wise person will meditate upon it, to find out that very thing. Are we wise builders, or the foolish builders? Our actions at this point, will determine the answer to that question.

This is the season we are in, the hour at hand is now demanding a response. From the abundance of our hearts, our mouths will speak.

This following verse, should be all of our hearts cry.

Listen to what Psalms 139:23-24 says:

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test my thoughts. Point out anything you find in me that makes you sad, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. (Psalms 139:23-24 TLB)

Is this the cry of our hearts?

These words that I am being given, are designed to challenge our walks with the LORD. They are designed to challenge us, where we reflect inward, where we do a self examination. Where we surrender unto the LORD, where we turn back towards Him, instead of hiding from Him.

Are we reflecting Inward?

Our invitation, is for the LORD to examine out innermost thoughts, revealing any hidden, or offensive habit, so that we can be led towards a life that honors Him.

Thanks for your time today have a blessed week … bye for now
