God is Just …
Its funny we do not make time for God and His word His direction that promises to comfort us take care of us and guide us. Mankind in its foolishness says it has no need of God. Yet it is that very confession that leads them into the pit fall that ends in destruction.
We have become really good at becoming our own god.
When we remove what is right and replace it with something else it never finishes well. So be it with God, when we no longer recognize our need for the truth and we substitute it for a delusion we are on a set path where destruction will come.
Anytime you substitute and disqualify God’s ways and replace it with a world and secular view and call it wisdom you’re heading for trouble. Both on a personal as well as a national level, trouble has a way of hunting you down and messing you up really bad.
The bible calls the wisdom of this world foolishness.
Let no one be under any illusion over this. If any man among you thinks himself one of the world’s clever ones, let him discard his cleverness that he may learn to be truly wise. For this world’s cleverness is stupidity to God. It is written: ‘He catches the wise in their own craftiness’. (1 Corinthians 3:19 Phillips)
It is sad but for most of us we can relate. There are times in our lives when we could have avoided the trouble but in our own stubbornness, we did it our own way and left God out of the decisions we were making. It takes the trouble that we find ourselves in that enables us to actually figure out we need help.
Why do we wait until we are at our lowest point to humble ourselves repent and get back on the right path? Pride in our hearts creates the inability to see how foolish we are as well as it keeps us from acknowledging our sinful ways.
Pride comes before the fall we never see it coming until it is on top of us.
Take the time and read and meditate on Psalms 106. It is quite long but over all you can see the pattern. Israel fell away and came back many times through-out history. God was always gracious even and up to today. When we turn from our foolish ways, seek His council, He is quick to forgive, and we are able to find the “One True God.”
The key point is to turn back, repent, seek His council and you will find Him. When we seek with all our hearts the bible says that we will find Him. Many times, in life over the years I have been at this point … listen carefully to this. Not only do you find Him but His loving kindness finds you and it is in that place that He removes the shame and the guilt and covers you with His Love
… Oh what a friend we have in Jesus.
Prayer: Dear Lord, there are so many times that we have found ourselves in this place. So, we do come today, Lord and turn from our own ways seeking you with all our hearts, knowing that when we seek, we will find you in that place. You desire our hearts and our friendship. When we are one this means we have placed you as our highest priority. It is here that we have made you our audience of one.
Verse: But if we freely admit our sins when his light uncovers them, he will be faithful to forgive us every time. God is just to forgive us our sins because of Christ, and he will continue to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:19 TPT)
