EX02 Trust in God …
We will never get moving forward, when we have a lazy half-hearted approach to the heart of God. Our Father desires that we would be fully engaged, not holding back. Our hearts need to go through a season, where we are taught to surrender our ways, allowing Him full authority. What this means, is that we put full priority on the fact, that whatever He asks, we say “Yes Lord”. The bible declares: “that when we seek God with all our hearts, we will find Him”.
When we have engaged our hearts, to be connected with God’s heart, we will ask the very things, that He desires to answer. This is just how close we can become, where His thoughts become ours. When we ask from this place, of being one with Him, we have aligned our lives. Our purpose, and our vision collide with Him. Here always lies the challenge, and the tension, His thoughts, and ours.
The victory hinges on this very thing. If our thoughts are not connected to His, we forfeit the promises being fulfilled. We cannot wage war in prayer, with a half-hearted approach. All in, means holding nothing back.
Listen to what 1 John 5:14-17 says:
Since we have this confidence, we can also have great boldness before him, for if we present any request agreeable to his will, he will hear us. 15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we also know that we have obtained the requests we ask of him. (1 John 5:14–15TPT)
There are two verses in the bible, that were spoken By God to Joshua, that are just as applicable here today. Theses verses have five promises that will give you victory every time, hands down.
Listen to what Joshua 1:5-6 says:
No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you. “Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead these people to possess all the land I swore to their ancestors that I would give them. (Joshua 1:5–6 NLT)
- 5 – The promise of victory over every enemy
- 5 – The promise of the presence and power of God
- 5 – The promise of the faithfulness of God
- 6 – The promise of absolute victory
- 6 – The promise of God to keep His promises
These are strong words given to Joshua. There is only “One Thing” that was required of Joshua. He needed to have faith, that what God said, would come to pass. He needed to have his confidence in the task at hand, putting his “Trust in God” and the victory was theirs. Joshua was merely the vessel, that God chose to fulfill His plan. These things were going to happen! Joshua’s part was to have faith in what God had said.
Prayer: Dear Lord, you are awesome in your ways. Nothing can come close to you. Your victory is what we desire, for it shapes our future. Your purpose, and your plan unfolds as we learn to connect to it. When we connect to the why, we have encountered the power. By faith we take hold of it, leaving nothing to chance. Lord, allow us to increase our faith, and obedience to you in every area of our lives.
Verse: ‘Now faith is confidence in what we hope for, and assurance about what we do not see. ‘ (Hebrews 11:1 NIV)
