DG06 Mastering Your Mind
Our thoughts and beliefs are what we become. For most of us, we don’t spend much time processing this part of life. The challenge here today, is for us to maximize our success, and accomplish the dreams that we have in our hearts. The bible says that many are the plans within a man’s heart, yet it is the Lord who determines the steps.
Our thought must align with His thoughts, or we will go through life, never really fixed on the dreams that could’ve been. We can become so dogmatic, that we miss the very thing that is being set before us. Simply put; if we would just alter our course in life, things would be different.
It starts with how we think. God is looking to make our minds fixed upon His word. A mind that has been placed under construction. A mind that has been set to the plumbline, built upon His Rock. A life transformed by His power, that over time, has become a fortress that can not be penetrated. Fortified on all sides, means that we have allowed our minds to be transformed, locking into how God sees our future. Embracing His change, will ultimately unlock our full potential, empowering us to live out our God given life, fulfilling His vision for our lives.
The culture around us is absorbed in self, a mind controlled by the flesh and all its desires. Their ways lack wisdom, knowledge and understanding. If we have not allowed Gods word to transform our ways, we become a life that never really embraced what could have been. Stuck repeating the old way, will leave you not being empowered to discern God’s will, purpose, dream, and destiny.
Prayer: Dear Lord … help us to embrace your ways. Help us to see the areas that need to be transformed in our minds. Allow us the ability to be all that You say we can be. Lord, we are asking, that your word would illuminate our minds, shining your light into all those areas that are affected by strongholds.
Help us to tear down these areas, and replaced them with the fortified power of your word. Here is our lives, take it and use it as you will.
Verse: ‘So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.
Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture, that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it.
Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you (Romans 12:1-2 MSG)
