Step-it-up-a-Notch – DTS002

God’s people are being asked to become desperate in our pursuit of Him. In the bible we are able to find repeated references to God’s people seeking after Him with intensity. This set of scriptures is implying this very thing.

I say this because I know the plans that I have for you.” This message is from the Lord. “I have good plans for you. I do not plan to hurt you. I plan to give you hope and a good future. Then you will call My name. You will come to Me and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.

You will search for Me, and when you search for Me with all your heart, you will find Me.(Jeremiah 29:11-13 ERV)

1. In this passage is a quest for God that includes a level of intensity beyond what might be termed ordinary prayer
2. The word search along with the phrase “With all your heart” suggests an earnestness that boarders on desperation.
3. The word search suggests a following after in close pursuit of a desired objective. It also implies a diligence in the searching process.
4. Ask the Lord to define a timetable that He desires for you to set in motion (A starting and ending point; example Jan 27, to Feb 22)
5. Then chart it out and keep note of what has been spoken and on what day (Journal it for future reference)
6. Remember contending is hard work. Break-through generally does not happen at the same time you start. It can take weeks, it can take months, it can take years.
7. Example in the bible would be in Daniel. He spent 21 days praying waiting for break-through and then it came. (Read Daniel 10:12-17)

¹² Then he said to me, “Fear not, Daniel,

For from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words. 

¹³ The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days, but Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I was left there with the kings of Persia, (Daniel 10:12-13 ESV)

8. Notice the key words; the answer was sent from the moment that Daniel set his heart to understand, He humbled himself before God, His words were heard, and an answer was sent
9. A lot of time I believe we give up right at the moment we were to receive our victory
