Rock or Sand …

When we are given insight, into things that we do not have a comprehension of, and it is for our well being, why then do we not listen? It is not that we do not hear, for we do. It is that we make a decision at the moment of hearing.

Rock-or-Sand … Listen to the Audio

Hi and thanks for joining me today. This word is going to challenge, all that hear it. The key point being, how we hear what the LORD has to say, matters more than we can understand. The LORD has spoken, and continues to speak, yet we for the most part, we refuse to hear what He is saying.

This is the start of how He sees the future unravelling. This is His mercy, His grace, in the form of warning us.

The warning is real …

When we are given insight, into things that we do not have a comprehension of, and it is for our well being, why then do we not listen? It is not that we do not hear, for we do. It is that we make a decision at the moment of hearing.

Selective hearing will only accept what it desires. Here lies, the intentions, the motives behind why we hear, and do not act upon what we have heard. I have called this word “Rock or Sand,” it is designed to both challenge us and change us.

Change comes when we own it

Remember, that we are always given insight, we are without excuse, when what we refused to accept happens. This is my prayer in the preparation of this word, that it will arrest us, that it will confront us, and that change will happen because of it.

This is a word that nobody wants to hear … yet that fact, does not change the word. It amplifies it. The louder we try and drown it out; it begins to shout at us. The message does not change, just because we do not desire to hear it.

The bible talks about two types of builders. A wise and a foolish builder. One builds upon the “Rock” and the other builds upon the “Sand.” The storm comes for them both, they both encounter the same storm. One stands, and one falls, and the one who falls, it is catastrophic.

Are we listening

Listen to what Matthew 7:27 says:

“But if you just use my words in Bible studies and don’t work them into your life, you are like a stupid carpenter who built his house on the sandy beach. When a storm rolled in and the waves came up, it collapsed like a house of cards.” (Matthew 7:27 MSG)

Many have built upon the sand, and have called it the rock. I see it all around me, foolish people building, when there is a storm coming. They are not grounded in the word, for if they were, they would in-fact be building an entirely different structure.

When the storm hits it will be to late

Listen to what Proverbs 16:18 says:

Pride comes before being destroyed, and a proud spirit comes before a fall. (Proverbs 16:18 NLV)

This is the part, in that moment, that will be the reality check. In this moment we will wish we had of listened with ears to hear, and a heart response, that brought honor unto the LORD. The witness in this moment will be profound. In His mercy He has been reaching out, yet we refused to listen.

Listen to what Proverbs 1:20 says:

Lady Wisdom goes out in the street and shouts. At the town center she makes her speech. In the middle of the traffic, she takes her stand. At the busiest corner she calls out: (Proverbs 1:20 MSG)

The warning has gone forth in the busyness, in the noisiness, in every aspect of our lives, it has been facing us, yet we in our inability to see and understand the hour we were in, fall because of it. But not just fall, it is catastrophic, that could have been avoided.

Yet if we read further down in this chapter it makes a horrifying proclamation.

Listen to what Proverbs 1:24-28 Says:

As it is, I’ve called, but you’ve turned a deaf ear; I’ve reached out to you, but you’ve ignored me. “Since you laugh at my counsel and make a joke of my advice, how can I take you seriously?  I’ll turn the tables and joke about your troubles!

What if the roof falls in, and your whole life goes to pieces? What if disaster strikes and there’s nothing to show for your life but rubble and ashes? You’ll need me then. You’ll call for me, but don’t expect an answer. No matter how hard you look, you won’t find me. (Proverbs 1:24-28 MSG)

Our hour to prepare is now

His call has been, and still remains to this day. Come to Me. It is a call back, to being once again in relationship with Him, before anything else. It is a place, where He desires to teach us, how to listen and respond. His desire is that we would seek Him, and forsake our wicked ways.

That in our returning to Him, we would once again be covered by Him. His mercy and His grace, will reestablish His covenant with us. The call is for us to draw near to Him. He is looking for a heart that will be obedient. A heart that speaks, where the intention is to follow through on what has been instructed.

Is this our hearts cry? Speak LORD, for your servant listens, with the intention of being obedient to what the Lord has instructed us to do? The LORD is not looking for us being sorry. He is looking for us to be sorry, where we turn from what we have been doing, and in our turning, we will never return to where we have come from.

Being sorry is not remorse

The LORD is a God of redemption, yet we mistaken His patience with acceptance for where we are at. His hearts cry has not changed … it is still on the street corners of our world “Shouting Out,”

Listen to what Proverbs 1:23 says:

Turn to me and receive my gentle correction; Watch and I will pour out my spirit on you; I will share with you my wise words in order to redirect your lives. (Proverbs 1:23 Voice)

Listen to Me as I warn you of danger!!! If you will turn and repent, and give heed to My rebuke, I will pour forth My Spirit upon you.

I will send it forth, where it will gush forth. My revelation of wisdom will come upon you, where My scriptures will be opened up to you. Your heart will be transformed into a wise and discerning heart.

Can we not hear His voice

By the decision that we make it will be determined upon what we built. It will become evident to all: “Rock or Sand.”

Listen to what James 1:22 says:

Put the word into action. If you think, hearing is what matters most, you are going to find, you have been deceived. (James 1:22 Voice)

Thanks for your time today … Have a blessed week … Bye for now
