Winter Snow Storm …
Both me and my wife were in a vehicle driving in a severe storm that had made it very difficult to travel. We were not able to slow down due to the severe traction problem that would have been created had I taken my foot off of the accelerator.
The acceleration was my saving grace
This was by far the worst conditions I had ever had to drive in. It was feet deep of slushy snow. The windshield wipers could not keep up. Our ability to see properly was severely challenged, not to mention it was night time as we were traveling.
As we were on this highway there were vehicles all around us spinning out of control, sliding into the ditch’s, some were actually driving right off of cliffs not recognizing where they were even driving. Even with the new winter tires I had just put on, our traction was severely challenged.
Had I not preplanned, and got the proper traction I would not have made my destination
I new where we were traveling too. Our destination was where we had originally set out to arrive at, yet it was severely challenged because of the storm all around us.
The wind was blowing so hard in the midst of this, that it was even more difficult than it should have been. Its force was litterly trying to force us to slow down, and lose traction, where we would be like the rest, at a stand still, not able to move. Caught in this storm would be very detrimental, and very devastating.
Just because you have the destination insight does not mean that you have properly prepared
Our destination was a building, that at the moment, I did not have full understanding too. I just new as I was driving, this is where we were heading, but at that point not clear as to why. When we arrived, there was even more chaos in the area surrounding this building. Vehicles were crashing into others. Driving out of control, there were no power lights to direct traffic for safety.
My spirit was aware of what my soul was not
Cars were just plowing their way through the intersections and crashing into other vehicles because there was no power. The traffic lights were out of commission because of the storm. We made it to the building and were able to get inside. This is where everything changed, but not until this point.
We walked together feeling worn out and exhausted, as we enter into what looked like a check in point. We went to the reception area and the lady behind the counter smiled. I turned at that moment and looked outside the window, and vehicles were still crashing into everything. As I looked out through the large window, I could see just how dark it was.
Only once you have arrived are you able to release your grip. Worn-out, exhausted yes, but at your check in point
I turned back to the receptionist and at that moment saw a door to the right of me that was locked. It was at this point that I realized that I did not have a key for the door. I began to speak to her about the need to get past this point and she handed me a gold key that fit the lock and unlocked the door. I realized that once I had opened it, I would also require more keys to get to the next destination point within-side the building.
I realized at this moment that the waiting room was full of people who were there before we arrived. This building, although you were able to witness the storm all around it, was not affected by it. There was power on, the building had heat. Everything was normal. There was no chaos only a deep sense of peace …
The key for access was not given until we had entered into the waiting room
As I proceeded through the door that I had received the key for I realized that there was an elevator or a set of stairs. I made a decision to take the stairs based upon the design of what reminded me of a set of stairs that you would see in a “Lighthouse” … the other reason was, that anything that comes easy never lasts.
Though it might take me a bit longer to walk up the stairs, I did not want to miss anything by taking a route that in the end would require me to start over at the bottom where I had begun.
It would also give me more time to become prepared for my next point where I would need my second key.
This was the end of the vision that I was given.
Personal Thoughts;
We were not given a choice we had to travel at night, in the dark, in a blizzard like snow storm where proper traction was needed to survive
There was no power to give protection in the midst of the storm
You will have to plan ahead in this season so that the traction that you require is in place.
To gain momentum we need to make choices that will line up with what God is requesting (His word is our gauge) or compass
I was not able to lift my foot off of the accelerator
Lot of people were not prepared for what they were encountering. Devastating outcome for those not prepared.
The large window that I looked out of once inside this building was prophetic insight into the shelter that will be required to weather the storm
Fortified Tower:
The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. (Proverbs 18:10 NIV)
God is a place of safety, a place of refuge, a place that you can trust with a full assurance. When God gives you a promise your part is to accept it and take hold of it.
Within His name come the assurance of divine safety where we can in a moments notice be protected
Any pressure from outside, any onslaught of attack where darkness is looking to cloud your ability to stand is dealt with as we find our security in who His name says that He is. At any moment we have access to His name, and that brings provision, protection, comfort, peace.
