Daily Routine …

There is time for everything in life that we deem as important. There is a quote that I love, and it says this.

“The Secret of Your Future is Hidden in Your Daily Routine”

When we understand that this is true, we actually start to put time towards what that actually means. Where ever we invest our time, we will become a product of that time. Without purpose, we travel through life aimlessly, with no real target in sight. We are more driven by our emotions and how we feel than by our spirits. We will travel toward our most dominate thoughts. Whatever thoughts we allow into our minds, we will be affected by it.

Only when we focus on our time, and where we use it, do we become effective with it.

Read what Ephesians 5:15-16 says;

So be careful how you live; be mindful of your steps. Do not run around like idiots as the rest of the world does. Instead, walk as the wise! Make the most of every living and breathing moment because these are evil times. (Ephesians 5:15-16 Voice)

In my lifetime I have seen many people on both sides of the fence. I have seen people who have used their time in studying God’s word and applying it. They have a stability about them, they are mindful of their time, and are always focused on the advancing of God’s Kingdom. Funny thing, they always seem to be happy.

I have seen those, who are all about doing what ever they want, no matter the cost to others. Always striving, never attaining anything much for others. They really live a self-centered life, that for the most, is focused on themselves. This is just as sad, they with all of their outward expression of having their lives together, are actually a real mess. True Happiness cannot be found.

Read what Psalms 90:12 says;

Teach us to number our days so that we may truly live and achieve wisdom. (Psalms 90:12 Voice)

We go through life not realizing that wisdom is something that needs to be learnt. It does not come automatically. So, wisdom is something that we must learn.

To gain a heart of wisdom, is to understand the importance of each day, and to make the most out of the time we have here on earth.

Wisdom is something that when applied to our lives brings us forward with an amazing testimony of how we have benefitted because of it. God’s wisdom when applied gives us the abilities that the world can never acquire. When we apply the very principals of wisdom in our day-to-day lives it establishes His Kingdom here on earth in a most profound way.

Wisdom of the world is no wisdom at all. When we operate in its wisdom, it will never finish well. We see people who have elevated themselves up, only to get tripped up in their own foolishness. Anytime that you try and apply the wisdom of this world which is filled with rebellion, against God, it is then futile to think that compared up against God, it cannot but be foolish.

Read what 1 Corinthians 3:19 says;

For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness,” (1 Corinthians 3:19 ESV)

So, when we come to terms with the importance of a daily routine, we are half way there to actually making changes that in the long term will pay off with huge benefits. When we acknowledge the need of God and His presence we start to see through a different lens. Our perspective changes as we invite the Lord into our daily journey it then becomes impactful for us, as well as for others.

Since, we were never created to be self absorbed, rather filled with the ability to help others it really starts there.

Each day we have the ability to impact others for the Lords Kingdom.

So, lets start there. Take an Honest look at where you are at. Allow God to show you areas that need to be adjusted, and then take hold of the changes, and put it to work. There is no better time to take charge of an area in your life, than when God highlights the areas that He is wanting defined.

Your Daily Routine

  1. What does your current daily routine look like?
  2. Where you Start and Finish your day will determine your future?
  3. When you set time aside each day, and enter into seeking the Lord, and learning to understand His ways, your life will begin too flourish
  4. If it is a priority in your life, you will make time for it, if not you will make excuses as to why you did not do it
  5. I have always had a devotional time, even when I was working 14-hour days holding down 2 full time jobs, it was, and still is to this day a priority

Read what Proverbs 8:17 says;

I love those who love me, and those who seek me early and diligently shall find me. (Proverbs 8:17 AMPC)

This verse is amazing since it lays out the process and the result. When we pursue God’s wisdom, we will in fact find ourselves rewarded by God. When we seek with an intensity, with a diligence, wisdom in fact, find us to lavish us with the blessings.

See the contrast, we seek, and in turn we are sought out by the Lord and His wisdom, all because we set aside other things that held little value, and pursued the one in whom we valued.

It is funny that when we seek wealth, and its power, it corrupts our very soul. Yet when we seek wisdom, it is given unto us as a blessing. It is God who enables us to gain.

Read what Deuteronomy 8:17-18 says;

If you start thinking to yourselves, “I did all this. And all by myself. I am rich. It is all mine!”—well, think again. Remember that God, your God, gave you the strength to produce all this wealth so as to confirm the covenant that he promised to your ancestors—as it is today. (Deuteronomy 8:17-18 MSG)

It starts honestly with your heart. So, how do you start to seek the Lord – With all your heart.

Read what Deuteronomy 4:29 says;

But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul. (Deuteronomy 4:29 ESV)

Continually

When we purpose in our hearts, it becomes a continual pursuit that never ends. So, we do not seek to get, we seek to establish what God has always desired.

It is out of this very understanding that comes the blessed life beyond what we could ever imagine. Why? We have set our priorities straight and have sought a relationship above all things.

We in this pursuit become dependent upon Him and His strength, continually seeking His Face, His Power, His Might with a deep longing that can only be quenched by Him.

Read what Psalms 105:4 says;

Seek and deeply long for the Lord and His strength [His power, His might]; Seek and deeply long for His face and His presence continually. (Psalms 105:4 AMP)

As I was preparing this, I found areas even in my own life that I needed to make some adjustments. Here are a few helpful areas that I have found that have helped me through the years.

Do It with Reverence

  1. So, how do you come to the Lord?
  2. Is it with a half-hearted approach or is it with a “Reverence and Awe”?
  3. How you prepare yourself matters deeply
  4. First remove all the distractions from this moment (Daily Routine) write out all the things that need to be done prior to your time with the Lord
  5. Deal with your heart and make sure there is nothing that is creating a wedge between you and the Lord
  6. If there are areas of Sin – Deal with it; and ask to be forgiven
  7. “Repentance” is a very powerful tool in the hands of a humble heart
  8. Asking God to be involved in your journey (means you are asking for His direction and His help) You are no longer independent, relying upon your own strength, but on His.

When we come to the Lord with a half -hearted approach we are doubleminded in what we do, and what we say. Our hearts are divided, and in that division, our motives for even coming can get very distorted.

Read what James 1:7-8 says;

‘When you are half-hearted and wavering, it leaves you unstable. Can you really expect to receive anything from the Lord when you are in that condition? (James 1:7-8 TPT)

When we come to the Lord with a heart filled with reverence and awe, it is because we see that our stability is in Him, in a very unstable world. We are constantly receiving a Kingdom that can never be shaken. His promise to us through Jesus can never be taken from us.

The fact that we have been grafted into this Kingdom should set our feet to dancing.

Read what Hebrews 12:28 says;

Therefore, let us all be thankful that we are a part of an unshakable Kingdom and offer to God worship that pleases Him and reflects the awe and reverence we have toward Him, (Hebrews 12:28 Voice)

When we correctly understand His Kingdom, and where we are at because of who we have become, we start to understand that His dominion is ours. No force in this world can ever destroy or shake the Kingdom that we have been grafted into.

This Kingdom has been established upon the rock of all ages, Jesus is His name, and no force in hell can ever stop the effects of what took place on the cross. When you see it through this very lens, you understand that His very presence has gone before us, and prepared for us what we were never able to do.

Closing Statement;

I have found that in the preparation of this word it has become very insightful for me personally. There are areas in all our lives that need to be at times realigned. Over time we can become lax in specific areas, where it can go undetected.

I am not able to tell you how to build your walk with God. What I am able to say is that a life with God, is a journey through time, where we would never want to be without the friendship that has been established.  It is in our frailty that He reaches down and takes hold of us, and leads us to a life that brings Him Glory for who we have become.

Read what Romans 12:2 says;

‘Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes. (Romans 12:2 TPT)
